August Meeting with "Mining the Pacific:  Vital or Disastrous?",

Business session followed by documentary with discussion,
"Mining the Pacific" explains the technique of mining the sea floor for critical minerals. Although these minerals are important for renewable energy infrastructure and EV construction, many scientists believe deep sea mining will damage sea floor ecosystems, which are poorly studied and poorly understood.  Many are calling for a 10-year moratorium on this mining.,
