Thus, we are not having monthly meetings at this time. We hope to hold monthly meetings in the future. We began the protest in March 2025 and it has been carried on weekly for over one year. We provide huge, highly visible banners. Please join us. Delivery of signs is available. Help raise awareness of the climate crisis, deeply needed in Waco. 6) Winners of the "Sixth Annual Climate Crisis Art Exhibit" may be found in the Archives, April 2023. June Mtg: Daniel Moulton, PhD--Minerals: A Nonrenewable Resource

--Waco Friends of the Climate June business meeting and powerpoint presentation. Tuesday, June 27, South Waco Library, large meeting room to the left side of entrance lobby.
--6:00pm: business meeting, including review of recent campaigns & discussion of future projects. These include participation in Sept. Sustainability Conference, our Fall Carbon Sink Give Away at Downtown Farmer's Market, table at Out on the Brazos.
--6:30pm: powerpoint presentation by Daniel W. Moulton, PhD of the Sierra Club Dallas. Dr. Moulton will speak on the definition of minerals; how they are found, extracted, and processed; the environmental impacts of extracting and processing minerals; how to increase the supply of minerals or find mineral substitutes. In our new world of renewable energy and electrified transportation, mineral resources will become event more critical.
--Daniel W. Moulton is a wildlife ecologist with a BA in Biology, MS in wildlife ecology, and a PhD in wildlife science from Utah State University. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Univ. of Minnesota. Dr. Moulton is recognized as a Certified Wildlife Biologist by the Wildlife Society.
--Vegan refreshments and drinks supplied by our members.
