Reception at Art Center Waco

A reception provided by the Art Center Waco (ACW) for the 5th Annual Climate Crisis Art Exhibit was held from 1-2 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2022.  There was a great crowd of about 40, including some of the show artists.

Alan Northcutt provided a slideshow with a short discussion of climate science, logistics of the exhibit with statistics, images & demographics of show winners (about 30), thanks to volunteers, and steps to combat the climate crisis.

We provided business-sized cards with Friends of the Climate (FOC) contact info, media recommendations & 15 steps for lowering one's carbon footprint.  Refreshments were provided by ACW & FOC, including fruit punch, wines, grapes, oranges, vegan sugar cookies, vegan chocolate chip cookies, & vegan strawberry cupcakes.

To view all show winners, go to climatecrisisartexhibit.org and to the "current winners" page.  For a longer list of climate actions, visit the "Act Now" page.

Deepest thanks to ACW Director Doug McDurham for arranging this reception at this beautiful new facility.

Thanks also to our volunteers, including Adrian Northcutt, Harrison Ward, Joyce Nobis, Matthew Helton, Georgia Brady, & Donna E. Perkins.

Many thanks as well to the approximately 30 artists who invested their time and talent to care for our planet by entering the exhibit, and to everyone who took time to attend the reception .
