Powerpoint presentation: "The Climate Crisis + Solutions"

From Alan Northcutt:

I gave a Powerpoint presentation today (1/25) entitled "The Climate Crisis + Solutions" to Jimmy Dorrell's Creation & Environmental Sustainability class at Baylor.

I emphasized that our situation is not that of climate change, which can consist of normal glacial and interglacial cycles that occur over 100s of thousands of years. Our situation is a CLIMATE CRISIS, due to climate disruption/breakdown/chaos, which has developed over 150 years, and threatens human civilization as we know it. I described some of the major impacts of heating of the planet, and reviewed some top actions individuals may take to combat the climate crisis. I provided a business card of the Waco Friends of the Climate, which contains contact information and 15 steps people may take to fight climate breakdown.

Our struggle has appropriately been called "World War 0," because this transition to clean energy will require a fierce retooling effort analogous to that of our Second World War, with a goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2050,

Deepest thanks to Rev. Dorrell for inviting me to speak, and to his students for their attention and concern for our planet.
