2020 Climate Crisis Art Exhibit Update

The judging has been completed and we are happy to announce that because of even more relevant and awesome pieces this year we have divided the categories further and increased the number of awards:
  •  Adult places 1 through 4 with 6 honorable mentions
  • college places 1 through 3 with 1 honorable mention
  • high school places 1 through 3 with 1 honorable mention
  • junior high places 1 through 3 with 1 honorable mention
  • elementary school.
We will announce the winners at the online ceremony through Zoom, Saturday, December 19, 6pm. In addition to the award presentation, we will cover briefly some recent climate science, and enjoy some climate music and video. The Zoom meeting allows 100 participants, so we suggest logging on early to acquire a spot. We plan to start admitting people about 5:30pm.

The link which takes one directly to the Zoom meeting is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83271487387.

After the ceremony, we will list all the awards in an email to the climate artists.

We will allow voting on the Peoples' Choice Award to continue until December 18.

We have been fortunate to have some announcements on well-known climate podcasts. About 3 days ago, unique visitors to the show were 1371, and Peoples' Choice votes 154. Although there are clear disadvantages to the virtual show, we have definitely reached more visitors than previous years. In light of the hard work of all artists, and positive reception, we will continue the exhibit through December 31.

We still have two pieces of art which have not been picked up by the artists. We respectfully request that you retrieve those at Alan’s home ASAP.

Please reply email with any questions or concerns at anorthc@aol.com

Thanks to all for caring about the climate crisis, especially in Waco.  And best wishes for a pleasant holidays.
