December 12th Styrofoam Collection

On Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 9 am until 1 pm (or until the truck is full) Waco Friends of the Climate will host a Styrofoam collection in the parking lot at the corner of Waco Drive & Valley Mills Drive, in front of Ocean Buffet.

Look for the U-Haul truck in the parking lot with a recycling sign. Please come early, because the truck will probably be filled to capacity. First come, first served.

For safety, please stay in your vehicle and wear a mask. We will remove styrofoam from your trunk (preferably) or your back seat.

Accepted will be styrofoam cups & take out containers, larger molded pieces and blocks. All Styrofoam should be CLEAN. We cannot accept peanuts & lids. Please place smaller pieces in bags.

We transport the collections for recycling. The material collected is used to produce new containers.

Donors will receive free a climate info card.

Note: by 2050, 20% of climate pollution will derive from plastic production. Thus this recycling will help decrease the GHG emissions.

We receive no money for this styrofoam. Donations accepted to defray truck expenses.
