Rooftop Solar at Lakeshore Baptist

The following is a report from Alan Northcutt:

CLIMATE VICTORY:  I was honored to give a climate lecture at Lakeshore Baptist Church on Wednesday night, May 17th.  Afterwards the church members voted and approved ROOFTOP SOLAR for their building. Thanks to Skip Londos & David Mosley for their work on this.

Waco Friends of Peace/Climate promoted PVCs approximately one year ago, and the idea went through various committees at the church. The vote of approval on Wednesday night was unanimous. I think this decision makes a powerful statement, and I hope many churches, other organizations, and individuals will be inspired to make this investment in a livable biosphere.

My lecture, “Anthropogenic Climate Change: Crisis and Response,” was focused on the urgency of climate change action (our global C02 level today is 410.58ppm!), reviewing the horrendous impacts of global warming and including a handout with a list of many possible individual actions.  Waco Friends of Peace/Climate contributed $1000 toward the church’s panels.

I am available to give this lecture to groups in Waco.
