FOP to prosest at Flores town hall meeting


On Tuesday, September 3, Waco Friends of Peace will mount a protest against Rep. Bill Flores’ position on the Keystone XL pipeline in particular and his denial of climate science in general.  We will target his town hall meeting that is scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the Community Services Center at MCC.

We will meet at 4:30 PM at the corner of North 19th and Tartan Drive at MCC.  There is a public sidewalk at this location, so we will most likely position ourselves there for our action.  Banners will be provided, but additional climate-related signs will be welcome.

Rep. Flores is precisely at the core of the problem — his tea party group denies climate science and works to prevent urgent action and legislation.  Our action will let him know that we reject his insanity and urge him to embrace intelligent policies in order to help prevent climate catastrophe that will affect us all.
